Frequently Asked Questions

A Virtual Private Server (VPS) is a virtualized server giving you dedicated resources — CPU, RAM, and storage — within a shared physical machine. Unlike shared hosting, a VPS gives you root access, full control, and consistent performance unaffected by other users.
You need a VPS if you run resource-intensive applications, need a custom server environment, host multiple websites, or require a development or staging server.
Most VPS instances are provisioned instantly or within minutes of payment confirmation. You will receive an email with your credentials and IP address as soon as the server is ready.
In rare cases, provisioning may take up to a few hours. Contact support if you haven’t received your credentials within 2 hours.
We support a range of Linux distributions including Ubuntu (LTS), Debian, CentOS / AlmaLinux / Rocky Linux, and Fedora. Windows Server options may be available on select plans — contact support for availability.
Yes. All ZenVPS plans include full root (administrator) access. You have complete control over your environment — install any software, configure services, and manage users as you see fit, within our Acceptable Use Policy.
Yes, you can upgrade at any time from your client portal. Upgrades are applied immediately. Downgrading may require waiting until the next billing cycle. Contact support for assistance with plan changes.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) processed securely through Stripe. Additional payment methods may be available depending on your region. We do not currently accept PayPal or cryptocurrency.
Yes! We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all new VPS orders. If you’re not satisfied within 30 days of your first purchase, contact our billing team for a full refund — no questions asked. Domain registrations are non-refundable. See our Refund Policy for full details.
VPS services are billed monthly by default. Your subscription renews automatically on the same date each month. You can cancel at any time before the renewal date to avoid future charges. Invoices are sent by email and available in your client portal.
If a payment fails, we’ll notify you immediately by email and retry automatically. If payment remains unsuccessful after multiple attempts, your VPS may be suspended. Your data is retained during a grace period — resolve the payment to restore service.
You can cancel anytime from your client portal before your next renewal date. Your VPS remains active until the end of the paid period, then is terminated. Contact [email protected] if you need assistance.
All ZenVPS plans use NVMe SSD storage, the fastest type of solid-state storage available. This delivers significantly faster read/write speeds compared to standard SSDs or HDDs, directly benefiting application performance and database queries.
ZenVPS targets 99.9% network uptime. Scheduled maintenance is performed during low-traffic windows and communicated in advance via email. Our infrastructure is monitored 24/7.
Backup availability depends on your plan. We strongly recommend maintaining your own backups regardless, as you are ultimately responsible for your data. You can use standard tools like rsync, automated cron jobs, or third-party backup solutions from within your VPS.
Yes. Since you have full root access, you can install any control panel including cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, or free alternatives like CyberPanel or HestiaCP. Licensing costs for commercial panels are your responsibility.
You connect via SSH (Secure Shell). On Mac/Linux use the built-in terminal. On Windows use PuTTY or Windows Terminal. Your IP address, username, and password (or SSH key) are emailed to you when your VPS is provisioned.
Yes! You can register a domain directly through ZenVPS when ordering a VPS plan. Domain registration is available as an add-on during checkout, making it easy to set up your server with a custom domain in one step.
Yes, domain transfers are supported. You’ll need an authorization (EPP) code from your current registrar, and the domain must be at least 60 days old and unlocked. Contact our support team to initiate a transfer.
No. Domain registrations and transfers are non-refundable once processed, as fees are immediately passed to the domain registry. Please double-check the domain name before completing your order.
Absolutely. All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. ZenVPS never stores your full card details on our servers. Stripe handles all sensitive payment data under strict security standards.
